Dubai to Build an Ultra-Narrow Skyscraper with Only One Apartment Per Floor at $4.9 Million Each

Dubai is in the front of top unique skyscrapers in the world with an upcoming ultra-narrow building.

Called the Muraba Veil, it will be 1,247 ft. tall, but only 74 ft. wide. This means only the width of a usual single apartment in Dubai.

As detailed by CNN, the Muraba Veil will be located alongside a canal by Dubai's main highway called Sheikh Zayed Road. As a 73-story building, it can house 131 luxury apartments, each with two to five bedrooms.

There will be other high-end amenities to enjoy a gallery, padel court, private movie theater, restaurants, and more. Another top feature the building can boast is that it's also designed by RCR Arquitectes, a Spanish architecture firm that won the 2017 Pritzker Prize.

How Much to Live in Muraba Veil?

Now, Dubai has been home to several notable skyscrapers that are over 984 ft. tall than any other city in the world. Known for its landmarks, offerings, amenities, and views, living in the world's first super thin building will not be cheap.

In the same CNN report, apartments in the ultra-narrow skyscraper, at 74 ft. wide, will have a starting price of $4.9 million (18 million dirhams). Each design is inspired by traditional Arabian houses, which include an inner courtyard surrounded by greenery and shaded areas.

Like the name, Muraba Veil, the design starts with a veil-like stainless steel that will change shades with the sky. Considered an outdoor mesh structure, it will give the building a unique appearance among other skyscrapers in the area.

RCR Arquitectes founder explained the goal for Muraba Veil: to fit naturally with its surroundings and at the same time, reflect the culture of Dubai. Completion of the building is expected by December 2028.
