Robert De Niro Rents One Of The Most Expensive Properties In New York City

Life doesn't seem too shabby for Robert De Niro as he has reportedly moved into one of the most expensive rental apartments in New York. According to the NY Post, De Niro and his wife, Grace Hightower, have swooped an entire floor at the 15 Central Park West tower.

Before the conversion, the floor was originally two units, and today boasts a 6,000-square-foot space with five bedrooms, seven baths, dining room, library and incomparable views of Central Park, downtown Manhattan and the Hudson River. The pad seems very casual, right? And only $125,000 a month!

Leroy Schecter, who originally listed the unit for $95 million nearly two years ago, owns the 35AB floor at the tony residence. In the same year, the De Niro family experienced an unfortunate fire in their 88 Central Park West home, and due to the aftermath, the couple has been renting ever since.

Their Upper West Side home has been undergoing a floor to ceiling gut renovation and until construction is completed, sources have told the NY Post that De Niro will live at 35AB.

The property is currently on the market for $65 million, with neighbors including Goldman Sach's Lloyd Blankfein, Denzel Washington, Bob Costas, Sting, and hedge funders Dan Loeb and Barry Rosenstein.

With a rental asking price of $125,000, the apartment is at the top tier of Manhattan's most expensive rentals. However two penthouses at the New York Palace take the win with a $250,000 rental asking.
