In NYC, a new restaurant opening is as common as yellow cabs but with the debut of new hot spot Tender, Midtown Manhattan may never be the same.
Opening its doors tonight, May 14, the new dinning spot, located with the Sanctuary Hotel, offers modern American cuisine with a twist, an impressive sushi selection and eclectic cocktail menu created by an award winning mixologist. And unlike any other restaurant in the area, the decor and design are just as delicious as the menu itself. Plus the staff includes some of the sexiest servers and hostesses in the city.
Feeling tempted? Check out these five reasons to try out Tender NOW!
1. Two Words... Avocado Fries
Actually, the to-die-for appetizers are just one of the standouts on the menu, which is as diverse as New York itself and created by Executive Chef Dale Schnell, whose experience includes positions at The Setai Fifth Avenue, Picholine (NYC), KTCHN at THE OUT NYC and the world¹s only 7-star hotel The Burj al Arab in Dubai, where he lent his culinary expertise to the property¹s six restaurants. There are a number of mouthwatering house signatures including Fiilet Mignon, Atlantic Salmon, Asparagus Risotto with Baby Scallops and such as Wild Ginger Endamame and Yukon Gold Mashed Potatoes. For those who enjoy Japanese fare, Tender features a 10-piece Omakase and six non-traditional sushi rolls (that may just be the best in the city) from Sushi Chef Edwin Purnomo who previously worked at Sushi of Gari for five years. And the desserts, including Key Lime Cheesecake and Valrhona Chocolate Brownie Sundae served w/ cocoa nibs praline & mint chocolate chip gelato are not to be missed.
2. The Decor Is Sexy
With stylish black and white photos on the walls (some featuring ladies in lingerie) you know from the get-go this isn't just another place to eat! Designed by Josh Held Design, the polished brass bar anchors the lounge with walnut beaded chandeliers and wood panels, while vintage Parsian table lamps sit atop the silver veined stone top. The floor is a balance between elegantly pattered encaustic tile and wood planks. Long banquettes with bright turquoise tufted leather line both sides of the lounge and sit against hand-applied mural over the brick walls. Large wing chairs with coordinating turquoise pony hides punctuate the banquettes, while intricately pattered leather seats surround brass riveted cocktail tables. The restaurant also has a reflective ceiling sprinkled with exposed lighting. An additional library room is wrapped with a curated collection of book, a fireplace and its own bar for private occassions. Ooh cozy!
3. The Staff Is Even Sexier
Some of the most beautiful people in Manhattan work here and they are definitely having a good time! Always up on their feet and dancing to the beats, this staff is high energy and totally hot. The hostesses sizzle in sexy in black American Apparel halters and H&M skirts and the handsome waiters are sure to charm! Make sure to say hi to Danni!
4. The Drinks Are Divine
Award winning mixologist Isaac Grillo from Haven South Beach, who is responsible for reacting the cocktail programs for The W Miami Beach and Barton G, has come to New York to conceptualized and create Tender's signature cocktail menu which pairs perfectly with the restaurant's offerings. Like a little kick? Try out the OMG Yuzu Margarita. Have a sweet tooth? Go bold with the Smoked Chocolate Negroni featuring piedre almas mezcal, campari, carpano and chocolate bitters.
5. You'll Be In Good Company
The restaurant is housed within The Sanctuary Hotel, owned by Brandon Freid and Hank Freid, where celebs like Daniel Radcliffe, Marisa Tomei, Toni Collette and Michael C. Hall were all spotted at in the last week alone. And now that Tender's is open for business you're sure to run elbows with some Hollywood heavyweights. Siva Kaneswaran from the band The Wanted and Olivia Munn have already tried it out!
