Organizers of the 2014 Kips Bay Decorator Show has recently announced the location for this year’s interior transformation. For its 42nd year, the chosen designers will be designing the former North Wing of the historic Villard House located at New York’s Mansion on Madison. The location is adjacent to the luxury hotel New York Palace.
According to the show house chair and interior designer Bunny Williams, “Stepping inside the historic mansion and its grand rooms immediately transforms you to another era.” Williams added, “With the help of these hand-selected twenty-two designers and architects, we’re looking forward to reviving one of Manhattan’s most-revered historic spaces while simultaneously raising funds to enhance the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club and our region’s youth.”
This year, the celebrated interior designers and architects who will be participating in the said project includes Young Huh, LLC, Architect William T. Georgis, Villalobos Desio, Vicente Wolf Associates, SPaN Architecture, Robin Sacks Decorative Painting, Orlando Diaz-Azcuy Design Associates (ODADA), Meyer Davis Studio Inc., Mendelson Group Inc., Matthew Quinn, Martyn Lawrence Bullard, Markham Roberts Inc., Mark Hampton LLC, Kirsten Kelli, LLC, Juan Montoya Design, John Douglas Eason Interiors, Ingrao Inc, Edward Lobrano Interior Design Inc., Darryl Carter Inc., Cullman & Kravis Inc, Christopher Peacock, and Carrier and Company Interior Ltd.
According to the organizers, they are expecting 20,000 visitors who will witness as the transformation unfold within the Villard House North Wing.
Aptly named The Show House, the design exhibit is considered as the premier fundraiser of the Kips Bay Boys and Girls Club. It will be open to the public from May 1- May 29, 2014.
